Comptroller Dera Nnadi Sweeps Two Awards of Excellence at CGC Awards Night
The Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service and its Area Comptroller, Dera Nnadi, have been honored with two prestigious awards at the CGC Award Night Ceremony held on Friday, November 29, 2024, in Abuja.
Comptroller Nnadi was celebrated by colleagues and stakeholders at the Award ceremony, where he won an Award for Distinctive Performance and another Award of Excellence for Workplace Transformation. These awards recognize his outstanding leadership and commitment to delivering on his mandates at the Tincan Island Port.
The awards were presented to him by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, who acknowledged the command's various achievements, transformation, and innovative solutions to ensure trade facilitation.
The awards Winner CGC's Special Award For Workplace Transformation as well as 'In Recognition of your Distinctive Performance and Commitment to the Ideas and Vision of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Under Comptroller Nnadi's leadership, the command generated an impressive N1.2 trillion in revenue as of November 2024 and successfully remodeled the Tincan Island Port command administrative building, which was over 40 years old.
The Area Controller attributed the achievements to teamwork, commitment, focus, and dedication of all the officers of the command. He expressed appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs for the support given to the command and the honor bestowed on him.
Comptroller Nnadi also urged business leaders at the Tincan Island Port to take advantage of the Trade Modernization Project initiatives of the Comptroller General of Customs. This, he believes, will ensure the use of technology at the port, trade facilitation, and paperless port procedures.
The CAC admonished officers of the command to see the awards as motivation and a challenge to work harder. With these awards, Comptroller Nnadi has cemented his position as a leader who is committed to excellence and dedicated to making a positive impact on the Nigeria Customs Service.
