...Charges Them to Double Their Efforts

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, honoured newly appointed Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs), Comptrollers, and other senior officers at a historic ceremony held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Customs Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

This ceremony takes place soon after the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) declared the promotion of 2,209 senior officers and the appointment of ACG Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and ACG Queen Ogbudu.

The event was commemorated by the celebration, which was attended by the NCS Management Team and the celebrants' families.

Speaking to the recently decorated officers, the CGC underlined that exceptional performance and merit were the foundation for the 2023 promotion process.

He challenged all officers and staff to step up their efforts and gave them assurances that their hard work and devotion to their jobs would not go unappreciated or unrewarded.

“While some of you received regular promotions today, there are others who earned special promotions due to their exceptional performance and commitment to promoting the Service,” stated the CGC.

He promised that the Management Team would appropriately honour and commend such devoted personnel.

In support of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Manthra, the CGC's call to the celebrants is in line with his continuous efforts to accomplish his three-point agenda of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.

TM Daniyan, F Fajana, N Isyaku, MV Umana, AC Nwobi, F Abdulquadir, HK Ejibunu, FM Ojiofor, IN Aliyu, MD Malah, EO Oshoba, JK Oladeji, E Luka, AP Daruaku, FM Ojeifor, IN Nwokorie, EJ Harrison, and others are among those who were recently promoted to the rank of Comptroller.

Keep in mind that the breakdown of promotions consists of:
- Assistant Superintendent of Customs II to Inspector of Customs (IC) (ASC II) ASC II to ASC I is 348; ASC I to Deputy Superintendent of Customs II (DSC) is 321. DSC to the Superintendent of Customs (SC) - 355 SC to the Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) - 207 CSC to Assistant Comptroller (AC) - 500 333-DC to AC - 78-DC to DC - 67-DC to Customs Comptroller (CC)

The CGC congratulated the recently appointed and promoted officials and asked them to work even harder at fulfilling their important responsibilities, which include revenue generation, trade facilitation, and smuggling control.

Queen Obudu, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, expressed her sincere gratitude in her vote of thanks, reaffirming her steadfast trust that the officers' capabilities match up to expectations.
