Governor Abiodun Champions Farm Laboratories as Key to Food Sufficiency, Unveils Support for Soilless Farm Lab

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has emphasized the crucial role of farm laboratories (settlements) in achieving food sufficiency in Nigeria. During a visit to the Soilless Farm Lab in Awowo, Ewekoro Local Government Area,

 Governor Abiodun advocated for the establishment of similar settlements nationwide, inspired by Israel's farm settlement model.

The governor announced plans to support the project, including waiving fees for title documents and donating N20 million to farm trainees. He commended the farm's impact on capacity building, revenue generation, and foreign exchange earnings, highlighting it as a successful public-private partnership.



Governor Abiodun expressed delight at the diverse participation of over 1,000 trainee farmers from 28 states and foreign countries, praising the team lead, Samson Ogbole, for building leaders and generating revenue. 

He acknowledged the Alawowo of Awowo, Oba Abdul-Fatai Olasunkanmi Tijani, for embracing the project.

The Soilless Farm Lab has trained over 10,000 individuals through its "Work and Learn" program, demonstrating its potential for replication across the country.


 Governor Abiodun's support aims to promote agricultural development, food sufficiency, and youth empowerment in Nigeria.
