LASG Cracks Down on Unsupervised Building Construction Sites: Sealing and Removal of Non-Compliant Projects Imminent
The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has announced a stringent measure to tackle the menace of unprofessional building constructions in the state.
General Manager, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, revealed that the agency will commence sealing construction sites not supervised by relevant professionals in the built environment.
Oki emphasized that property owners and developers must engage qualified professionals, including Structural/Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers, builders, and Architects, to ensure safety and fitness for habitation.
LASBCA will conduct site visits, and non-compliant projects will be sealed and potentially demolished.
The directive aims to safeguard the building construction industry, prevent building collapse, and protect lives. Developers and property owners must engage professionals with current practicing licenses and sworn affidavits.
