Customs Boss Charges Officers to Embody Professionalism as NCCSC Graduates 50 Officers
The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has urged officers who graduated from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) to uphold professionalism and continuous learning.
The CGC, represented by Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Bello Jibo, addressed the graduands of Junior Course 19, emphasizing the importance of embracing knowledge and skills to add value to the Service.
The graduation ceremony, held at the NCCSC in Abuja, marked the culmination of three months of rigorous training for 50 officers. DCG Jibo commended the graduands for their resilience and determination, stating that their journey has not been easy, but their hard work has brought them to this point.
The CGC's representative emphasized the significance of the college as a citadel of learning and training, where Customs officers are equipped with skills and knowledge to navigate the complex landscape of global trade, security, and border management. He encouraged the graduands to lead with integrity, innovate with purpose, and uphold the highest standard of professionalism.
The Commandant of the College, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Kingsley Egwuh, conferred the Pass Junior Staff Course (PJSC) title on the graduating students, while Comptroller Oluyomi Adebakin, Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies, urged them to transfer their knowledge to their subordinates.
One of the graduands, Superintendent of Customs Ekene Ochi, expressed gratitude to the management team of the Nigeria Customs Service and the college's management for the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will shape their careers as professional Customs officers.
The NCCSC also organized a regimental dinner night to celebrate the graduating students, fostering comradeship among officers. DCG Jibo described the gesture as an essential avenue for officers' professional growth and capacity building.
