Presidency Donates 21,650 Bags of Grains to Rivers State to Address Food Crisis, Governor Fubara Expresses Gratitude

The Rivers State Government has received a donation of 21,650 bags of grains from the Presidency, led by President Bola Tinubu, to address the food crisis and hunger in the state. Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara expressed gratitude to the President for the donation, which consists of 3,680 bags of garri and 17,970 bags of corn. The food items are part of the Presidential food palliative initiative to cushion the effects of hunger and economic hardship faced by many families across Nigeria.

The Governor set up Local Organising Committees (LOCs) headed by Caretaker Committee Chairmen of every local government to distribute the food items to the most vulnerable people in every nook and cranny of the State.

He emphasized the support of the State Government to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and assured that the food items will be distributed judiciously to all sections of the state.

The South-South Zonal Director of NEMA, Mr. Walson Brandan, handed over the food items to the Rivers State Government, noting that they were from the National Strategic Reserve under the custody of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Port Harcourt LGA, Ezebunwo Ichemati, appreciated the President for the food items and assured that all the Caretaker Chairmen will distribute them judiciously.
