I Collected Nothing From Kwankwaso to Use NNPP Platform for His Presidential Ambition, Says Aniebonam
The Founder of New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Okechwuku Aniebonam, has maintained that he did not collect a kobo from Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso before giving him the party's platform to contest the 2023 Presidential election.
The founder made this disclosure during the prayer session organized by the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), the parent body of the party on Thursday at the association's headquarters in Apapa, Lagos.
He added that aside giving the platform free of charge to Kwankwaso, he spent his hard earned money on Kwankwaso's political campaigns.
According to him, he spent about N50 million on hosting the NNPP flagbearer at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos during the electioneering campaign period.
He also claimed that he gave N250,000 to each of the governorship candidate of the party aside other expenses incurred by him.
The founder said he was miffed by what he saw on television of those who joined the association just a year ago changing the logo and constitution of the party.
On the prayer session, he maintained that the purpose was about seeking the face of God for peace in the party.
”Today’s event is organised to seek God’s intervention in the crisis in the party and to also call for peace,” he stated.
He declared that he is a child of God divinely led to establish the party.
According to him, the first question he asked Kwankwaso was whether he's a child God ready to take up divine role in the party to which he said the politician answered in the affirmative.
Aniebonam stressed that as the founder of NNPP and founder of NAGAFF he would not like to see his house in turmoil, especially on trivia issues.
He stated that the internal crisis in the party is avoidable, hence the call for the prayer session for God's intervention.
Speaking earlier, the compere of the event and Deputy National President of NAGAFF, Fwdr. Simeon Nwonu noted that NAGAFF, established by Dr. Aniebonam through divine order, believes so much in the power of God to turn things around.
He maintained that God has done it before and will do it again.
”It is our hope that God shall intervene in the internal wranglings of the NNPP and also give Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso the wisdom to retrace his steps in the issues concerning NNPP and his role therein.
He said that God that intervened when they ran to Him for intervention at the Supreme Court over Kano State governorship tussle will also answer them over the internal crisis of the party.
In the sermon he titled “Controversy”, the officiating minister, Pastor Joel Ozor noted that from the beginning of the earth controversy had existed especially when there's going to be greatness.
He cited many scriptures dealing with controversy in the Bible, assuring that regardless of the present controversy, the party will come out strong.
The preacher noted that the vision of NNPP was given to Dr. Aniebonam, adding that those whose presence in the party is covering its glory will be removed by God.
He prayed that anything that is not in agreement with the peace of NNPP shall be thrown out and any man that doesn’t want peace in NNPP shall be swept away.
