PETROL STATION FIRE ERUPTS IN OBAWOLE, LAGOS DURING FUEL OFFLOADING

A fire outbreak occurred on Wednesday at a petrol station situated along Old Akute Road in the Obawole area of Iju Ishaga, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State. The incident reportedly began while a fuel tanker was offloading petrol at the station.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, which drew swift response from emergency services. According to Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene shortly after the blaze was reported.
In a statement on social media, Gawat indicated that initial findings suggest the fire may have started from a building located behind the fuel station, although full investigations are still underway.
Photos from the scene show significant damage, but fire service officials have since managed to bring the situation under control. As of the time of this report, no casualties have been confirmed. Authorities are expected to release further details following a full assessment.
