COMTUA requests Strict Vehicle Inspections prior to Certification
By Kathy Kyari
For the purpose of preventing accidents, the Committee of Transport Unions and Association (COMTUA) has pushed for the proper vehicle inspections prior to certification.
COMTUA made this announcement in response to the container truck disaster in Ojuelegba, in a Press Release signed by its National President, Comrade Adeyinka Aroyewun.
The association expressed sadness over the frequent truck-related accidents, deaths, injuries, and property damage they cause.
It also sent its sympathies to the victims' families and prayed that God would grant them the strength to endure their loss.
The COMTUA declared that it is prepared to work with and help the government in all endeavors and that it has plans to deal with the ongoing issue of accidents on the roads, particularly the ongoing collapse of shipping boxes.
According to the press release, "We shall increase our regulation and control on our members to guarantee that safety is not compromised in all of our dealings."
It expressed sadness for the unfortunate situation once more and pledged to work with the government to make sure that drivers had safer roads.
