Abuja/Kaduna Commences Suspended Operations

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), has resumed operations of the Standard Gauge Train Service between Abuja and Kaduna on Tuesday, January 31 2023.
The NRC Board and Management made the announcement through the Corporation's Director of Operations, Mr. Niyi Alli in Lagos.
The derailment at Kubwa Station on Friday, January 27, 2023, caused the Abuja/Kaduna train service to be suspended.
"The Board and Management of NRC are happy to announce that the service has resumed therefore, starting on Tuesday, January 31, service will commence with the following daily schedule: KA2 departs Rigasa at 7:00 a.m., AK1 departs Idu at 10:00 a.m., KA4 departs Rigasa at 13:00 p.m., and AK3 departs Idu at 16:30 p.m."
"On Wednesday, however, only KA2 and AK 3 will leave Rigasa (Kaduna) and Idu (Abuja), respectively, at 7:00 a.m. and 16:30 p.m."
Alli stated, "The corporation regrets once more any inconvenience our esteemed passengers may have encountered as a result of the brief stoppage of service."
According to Alli, the train derailed at Kubwa station that fateful day as it approached Abuja, Nigeria, at around 3:15 p.m.
He emphasized that all of the renowned passengers were able to disembark safely and that there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the mishap.
