President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his intention to leave Nigeria with free, fair, credible, and transparent elections, according to FCT Minister Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, CON.

Mallam Bello said the Government has over the last seven years repositioned the Nigerian economy and put it firmly on the path of growth and economic sustainability outside of the oil and gas sector. He was speaking at the 14th edition of the Leadership Annual Conference and Awards, which was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

He claimed that by doing this, the Nigerian economy was put on a road of expansion and recovery.

Malam Bello said that the event's theme, "Credible Elections and an Economy in Transit," was relevant given that the general elections in 2023 may be thought of as "the most crucial leadership recruitment decisions to confront Nigerians in recent decades." His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari has insisted on leaving Nigeria with a free, fair, credible, and transparent election, the speaker continued.
While praising the award recipients for their well-deserved recognition, the Minister expressed specific gratitude for the efforts of Dr. Benedict Oramah, Chairman of Afreximbank and another recipient of an award, notably in the growth of the health sector in the FCT.

"We in the FCT resonate with the acknowledgment of Dr. Benedict Oramah, Chairman of Afreximbank, as this global financial institution," he remarked.

To that end, he said, "let me take this occasion to call on other organizations and corporate concerns who share our aim of making Abuja a world-class city to collaborate with us in this respect for the provision of world class healthcare with the construction of a 200-bed hospital in the city."

Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, the keynote speaker and former prime minister of Kenya, was welcomed to Abuja by the minister, who also praised him for being one of the beneficiaries of the special recognition award.
Additionally, Mallam Bello praised Mrs. Zainab Nda Isaiah, wife of the late Sam Nda Isaiah and Chairman of the Leadership Group, as well as the group's Management and Personnel for continuing the annual event and preserving Sam Nda-Isiah' memories and legacies.
