Nigeria's Defence Minister Urges Army War College Graduates to Uphold National Security


Nigeria's Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, mni, has called upon the graduating students of Army War College Course 8/2024 to uphold national security in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at Army War College in Abuja, the Minister commended the graduates for their dedication and perseverance throughout the 35-week rigorous training program in national security, military strategy, and operational art.

The Minister emphasized the significance of the graduates' newly acquired skills in leadership and strategic thinking, stating that "leadership is the cornerstone of military service, extending beyond mere orders to inspiring and guiding others towards a common goal."

 The Minister highlighted the graduates' transformation from tactical to operational and strategic level leaders.

He encouraged the graduates to lead with integrity, courage, and compassion in addressing complex and ambiguous challenges.

The Minister further emphasized the graduates' ability to navigate the geostrategic landscape with confidence, aptitude, and determination.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to the Nigerian Military and acknowledged the sacrifices of the Chief of Army Staff, the College Governing Board, the Commandant, Faculty members, and families of the graduates.

The Army War College Nigeria has previously equipped participants from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with enhanced security skills . 

The College's training program covers topics such as Inter-Agency Cooperation and Coordination, Critical Thinking, Legislative Perspectives on Military Operations, National Security Strategy, and Legal Perspectives on Military Operations.

In conclusion, the Minister congratulated the graduates, saying, "Your future is bright, and I have no doubt that you will all serve our nation with distinction."
