NPA Accelerates Electronic Call-Up System Implementation at Onne Port Complex
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has finalized plans to implement the Electronic Call-Up System at the Onne Port Complex, following approval from the Federal Executive Council.

This development aims to automate truck traffic management, enhancing efficiency and productivity at the port.

Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director and CEO of NPA, made this announcement during a pre-implementation visit by the executive team of Callup Technology Services Limited and Forge Concepts Limited, the system's operators, to the NPA Headquarters in Lagos.

Dantsoho emphasized the NPA's commitment to supporting the fast-tracked automation of truck traffic at Onne Port Complex before the end of the quarter, aligning with the directive of Adegboyega Oyetola, Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

The NPA helmsman assured that the operators will ensure seamless integration of their Information Technology deployments with the Port Community System (PCS) and the forthcoming National Single Window (NSW), prioritizing sustainable energy use.

The Onne Port Complex, comprising the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) and Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT), has experienced remarkable growth in vessel and cargo traffic, solidifying its position as the largest Oil & Gas logistics base in West and Central Africa.

Notably, Abubakar Dantsoho, during his tenure as Port Manager from 2020 to 2021, spearheaded innovative investor-friendly initiatives, contributing to the year-on-year growth at Onne Port Complex.

This electronic call-up system implementation marks a significant milestone in the NPA's efforts to enhance operational efficiency, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable practices at the Onne Port Complex.
