Arakan Cantonment, NSC Partner to Enhance Security in Apapa Port Communities
The Arakan Military Cantonment has pledged to collaborate with the Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC) to ensure the safety and security of lives and property in Apapa port communities and environs.
Col. Olusegun Opeyemi, Commander of Arakan Military Cantonment, Apapa, made this commitment during a visit to the NSC Headquarters in Lagos. He emphasized the military's readiness to support the NSC in building security confidence among port users and facilitating trade.
Opeyemi encouraged the council to engage with the Nigerian Army whenever necessary, fostering a strong partnership.
NSC Executive Secretary, Mr. Pius Akutah, appreciated the visit and acknowledged the military's strategic role in maintaining security in Apapa. He highlighted the importance of continued synergy and interaction to strengthen their relationship.
Akutah expressed delight in having the military as neighbors and committed to leveraging their offer to make Apapa a business haven and promote peaceful coexistence.
