In a significant move to revive the Nigeria Maritime Expo (NIMAREX), stakeholders in the maritime industry gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos on August 28, 2024. The meeting aimed to chart a way forward for the annual international exhibition and conference, which has been described as Africa's biggest maritime event.

He called for unity and cooperation across the industry, recognizing NIMAREX as a true umbrella that brings together all maritime associations.
Chairman of the Ports Consultative Forum, Bolaji Sunmola, urged stakeholders to ensure the 2024 edition of NIMAREX aligns with President Tinubu's administration objectives on the creation of the Marine and Blue Economy Ministry. Participants emphasized the need for effective implementation of decisions taken at NIMAREX to attract foreign and local networking, foreign direct investments, and fast-track development in the maritime sector.
The meeting attendees, representing various stakeholders in the maritime industry, agreed to set up committees to organize and ensure the success of the conference.
NIMAREX is poised to provide a viable structure and framework to promote business and engineer development in the industry, showcasing products, new technologies, services, networking, and real business opportunities in the maritime sector.
