CUSTOMS BOSS STRENGTHENS TIES WITH SISTER SECURITY AGENCIES IN PORT HARCOURT
Port Harcourt - In a bid to foster collaboration and synergy, Comptroller Chika C. Dim, the new Customs Area Controller of the Eastern Marine Command, has embarked on a series of courtesy visits to sister security agencies in Port Harcourt.

The visits, which began on May 2, 2024, aimed to strengthen existing bonds and promote effective and efficient operations. Comptroller Dim reiterated the Comptroller General of Customs' message of collaboration and synergy, emphasizing the need for joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and capacity building to combat illicit activities.

According to CSC Emmanuel Tangwa, Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Marine Command, "The courtesy calls were well received by the sister agencies, including the Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Director of State Security Services, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, among others."

Comptroller Dim also visited the Nigerian Navy's NNS Pathfinder, highlighting the importance of inter-agency cooperation in the maritime domain. "The visits were seen as a positive step towards better working relationships between the Nigeria Customs Service and sister security agencies, as they endeavor to secure the nation's borders and promote economic development," said Tangwa.

Comptroller Dim expressed her readiness to work closely with these agencies and promote a seamless coordination of operations. With these courtesy calls, the Eastern Marine Command is poised to strengthen its relationships with sister security agencies and promote national security.
