Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, the President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has congratulated Alhaji Bello Koko, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), on his recent recognition with two plaques: one for being named the "Public Servant of the Year 2023" and the other for leading the "Outstanding Government Agency of the Year 2023."

This was stated by Adeyanju in a press release on Tuesday that was signed by Comrade John Ikemefuna, the Head of Media for MWUN.

Comrade Adeyanju acknowledged that the Managing Director of NPA is a remarkable administrator, given that the Management of Champion Newspapers Limited has showered these commendable accolades onto him.

Adeyanju claims that as a result of Koko's strong background in the maritime industry, the industry has benefited much from his pioneering skills in terms of development changes.

"The PG in concert with his executives believe that the indefatigable Koko still has a lot to offer in the industry, his double awards are no flukes but a charge for more development in the Maritime sector".

Similarly, Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi (MoN) was felicitated by Prince Adeyanju, the Chairman Global of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), on his recent appointment as the inaugural Chancellor of Gerar University of Medical Sciences in Ogun State.

Adeyanju, speaking on behalf of all the Executives of the Maritime Workers Union, praised the CEO/Founder of the SIFAX Group for his practical approach to work excellence, dedication to the development of the country, and exceptional labor management in the maritime sector.

He proceeded by saying that Afolabi's passion for academic achievement, research, and development for the expansion of high-quality education in the nation led to his nomination as the first Chancellor of the Gerar University of Medical Sciences. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Maritime Industry Guru was given this role.

"The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria fervently pray that both the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority ( NPA ), Bello Koko and the CEO of SIFAX,  Dr. Afolabi find favour and mercy in the eyes of the Almighty God to accomplish much more in their various designations as so honoured".
