The newly appointed Ministers of Maritime, Labour, Transportation, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu have been congratulated by the Leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), led by Prince Adewale Adeyanju.

On Wednesday, Adeyanju expressed his congratulations in a press release issued by the MWUN's Head of Media, Comrade John Ikemefuna.

Prince Adeyanju claimed that considering Alhaji Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola's outstanding record as the past Executive Governor of Osun State, his selection as the first Minister of the newly established Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy did not come as a surprise.

"His unwavering passion for development of the State, hard work and transparency remain indelible in the hearts of the people. The Union believed that the former Governor will bring to bear on the Ministry, given his wealth of experience towards making the Marine & Blue Economy Ministry first amongst equals; and for the purpose with which it is created, to add core values to the generation of the nation's economy". He said.

Adeyanju believes that Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali's selection as the Hon. Minister for Transportation was merit-based and not a coincidence.

"It would be recalled that the Senator was former Commissioner of Information, Gombe State. Without a doubt, while serving in his capacity with the Gombe State government, Senator Alkali ushered in a new era of information dissemination to the people of Gombe State".

"Indeed, his political sojourn in this regard, marked his success and achievements while he held sway. However, assessing his exploits in information management  in the State was additional high point in his administrative proficiency that endeared him to all and sundry.  Indeed, he is poised to deliver as designated". He stated.

He further said that Dr. Simon Lalong, the Hon. Minister for Labour and Employment, had an impressive track record of accomplishments as the former Executive Governor of Plateau State. Given the wealth of expertise he had gathered while leading the State, his appointment was therefore dependent upon his history.

"Dr Lalong will definitely change the face of Employment & Labour Ministry for the betterment of the citizens, putting into cognizance the level of unemployment in the country". He said.

In addition Comrade Adeyanju describes Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, Hon. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, as a dogged personality whose numerous achievements as Executive Governor of Port-Harcourt saw the development of the state during his tenure.

"Barr Wike is dubbed "Mr Project" for his pragmatic development style, which is dynamic for all and sundry to see and feel. Wike is already in the eyes of Nigerians, where he's expected to transform and restore sanity to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja".

The Union leadership further expressed its unwavering support for all the aforementioned Ministers in all ramifications towards achieving the desired goal for the respective Ministries.
