FOGCILS Reassures Support For APC, Sanwo-Olu
The Forum of Governorship Candidates in Lagos State (FOGCILS) has restated it's support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
This was issued in statement at the last quarterly meeting of the Forum held at its Surulere secretariat on Monday, December 12 2022, resolved to induct new members into their fold in January, 2023.
The statement endorsed by the Convener, Hon. Akinola Obadia, added that those that would be inducted would be part of the Forum's programme to endorse Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his re-election in the March 2023 governorship elections.
It stated: "The Forum shall be addressing a press conference soon to unveil its programmes and agenda for 2023 beyond the endorsement of the governor.
"The Convener of the Forum, Hon. Akinola Obadia, wishes Lagosians a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
"He enjoins Lagosians to be peaceful, law abiding and be caring for each other in the spirit of the season."
Also speaking at the meeting, Prince Adewale Samson, a former governorship candidate in 2019, stressed, "In any establishment, continuity is key because that is the bedrock for development.
"And it is incontrovertible that Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has done very well in moving the state forward with his THEMES Development Agenda for the state."
He enjoined all progressive and forward looking governorship candidates to throw their weight and support behind the re-election of Gov. Sanwo-Olu.
He further urged them to join hands with the governor to form an all-inclusive government, because, according to him, Sanwo-Olu had performed well, even beyond their expectations.
He congratulated the governor for living up to expectations, adding and that Sanwo-Olu deserved a second-term as the governor of Lagos State.
FOGCILS also stated that as part of its agenda as a watchdog to the government and its activities, it would be presenting the group's score card to the government and also meet with the governor for a political engagement to advice, guide and discuss the future of Lagos and its residents with him.
The group promised its continued support for the APC government and its policies as long as those policies have a human face.
