MACI, ICPC Deepen Collaboration to Fight Corruption
The Media Anti-Corruption Initiatives (MACI), a non-governmental organization committed to combating corruption and discouraging public participation in corrupt practices, recorded another milestone on Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, when its executives paid a courtesy visit to the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Lagos Zonal Office, Mr. Alexander Chukwurah, fsi.
Mr. Chukwurah who warmly received the MACI delegation led by its President, Mr. Funso Olojo alongside his professional and proficient team, noting that the Press is pivotal to the ICPC's awareness campaign. He expressed delight at the growing media relationship with MACI.
The interactive session focused on strengthening collaboration between the media and the Commission in the fight against corruption.
The discussion centered on the pivotal role of the Press in anti-corruption advocacy; strategies for tackling corruption in line with the mandate of the ICPC; emphasis on prevention as enshrined in Section 6 of the ICPC Act; replicating global best practices in anti-corruption campaigns; a call to action that if we must achieve the Nigeria of our dream, the people must be actively involved; the difference between information and intelligence in anti-corruption reporting and investigation; training and capacity building for journalists; data sharing between ICPC and MACI for effective reporting; recognition of ICPC as the police of all anti-corruption institutions; and plans for mobile target sensitization and public enlightenment.
Members of the MACI delegation were Mr. Funso Olojo (Leader), LOD Onyeji, Tunde Ojudun, John Iwori, Abba Collins, Esther Komolafe and Ruth Sunday.
MACI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the ICPC in promoting transparency, integrity and responsible journalism.
