Inter-Command Games: Ogun 1 Customs Wallops Seme Command 4-0
In a very tough match that could be described as elephants met elephants, the Ogun 1 Command of Nigeria Customs Service trashed the Seme Command of the Service four goals to nil.

The football match, played on Wednesday at Customs Training School, Ikeja, Lagos, started on a high note as Seme Command team initially dominated the tempo of the match in the first half which ended goalless.

In the second half of the match the tempo changed after the Acting Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Command, DC Olukayode Afeni met with his team with words of encouragement during the half time. His meeting with the players must have been responsible for the more efforts put to the match by Ogun 1 players. The physical presence of the acting controller no doubt served as a morale booster and tonic that changed the tempo of the match.

The second half of the match was completely dominated by the Ogun 1 players who quickly converted an opportunity to a goal less than ten minutes into the second half. The Seme team tried to wake up but another goal was soon delivered inside their net.

While the match went on the referee spotted an infringement against Seme team and a penalty shootout was awarded against the already sinking team. The penalty was converted to a goal.

The fourth goal came unexpectedly through a grounder released from half field which caught the Seme goalkeeper napping, as the match ended 4-0 in favour of Ogun 1.

Earlier in the day, the match between Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command (MMIAC) and Ogun 11 Command ended 2-0 in favour of MMIAC. The MMIAC players controlled the tempo of the match from the beginning to end.
