MWUN Pledges Support for Tinubu 2027 Project, Maintains Non-Partisan Stancel
The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) recently hosted the executives of Transporters for Tinubu 2027 Political Support Group at the Union’s headquarters, 119 Osho Drive, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos.

During the visit, the group explained that their initiative was designed to promote structured collaboration between government, transport operators, and private parastatals, while ensuring grassroots participation in reforms aimed at improving national mobility, economic growth, and sectoral development. They noted that their engagement with MWUN was to acquaint the Union’s leadership with the vision, structure, and programmes of Transporters for Tinubu 2027.

The group further emphasized that they recognized MWUN as one of the frontline labour organizations in Nigeria and Africa, with a critical role in water transportation. They therefore considered the Union an important partner in advancing the objectives of the Tinubu 2027 project.

In his response, the President-General of MWUN, Comrade Bunu, expressed appreciation to the organizers for recognizing the Union at such a time. He affirmed that MWUN would always support initiatives that promote progress, unity, and development in the country.

However, the maritime labour leader reminded his guests that while the Union is not opposed to strategic efforts aimed at moving Nigeria forward, MWUN remains non-partisan and is committed first and foremost to the principles of good governance.
