AMATO UNVEILS 2026 STICKER, FIXES PRICE AT N10,000
By Aishat Momoh
The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) has officially launched its 2026 Annual Sticker for truck operators across Lagos State and other parts of the country.
The sticker, priced at ₦10,000 per pair, was unveiled on Thursday at the association’s National Secretariat in Apapa before members and key stakeholders. The event was attended by the National President, Chief Remi Ogungbemi, alongside other senior executives of the association.
AMATO announced that with the introduction of the 2026 edition, the 2025 sticker has become invalid.
According to the association, the new sticker serves as an official identification pass and grants members access to the NTVOA Prompt Tow-to-Safety rescue service, an initiative championed by the current leadership to safeguard truckers from arbitrary and excessive towing charges during vehicle breakdowns.
The association noted that the initiative was introduced in response to rising cases of exorbitant towing fees imposed on truck operators. It added that the 2026 sticker would also enhance visibility for members and offer a layer of protection against harassment and extortion by both state and non-state actors.
AMATO urged all members to obtain the new sticker without delay and complete the necessary registration forms at the secretariat to enable the update of its membership database. The database update, the association said, would support the committee led by Alhaji Gani Femisun in delivering more efficient and targeted services.
The leadership further reminded drivers to adhere strictly to safety regulations, avoid drug abuse, and maintain responsible conduct on the roads.
