He explained that the initiative is designed to ensure that officers remain physically fit and mentally alert in the discharge of their responsibilities to the nation.
“The goal is to ensure every officer is physically fit and mentally sharp to serve the nation better. This isn't a one-off event but will now be observing the exercise every Thursdays to promotes teamwork and informal interaction among personnel to strengthen discipline and service readiness. We are making fitness a culture here,” Afeni said.
The Deputy Comptroller further reaffirmed that officer welfare remains a top priority of the Command, urging all personnel to embrace physical fitness as an essential part of their professional lives.
The inaugural exercise session featured activities including jogging, aerobics, football and volleyball, with officers participating actively across units.
Beyond improving physical health, the weekly exercise is also aimed at reducing stress, fostering camaraderie, and boosting morale within the Command, reinforcing the belief that a healthy and united workforce is vital for effective service delivery.
