The President of the Nigeria Shipowners’ Association (NSA), Otunba Sola Adewumi, has called on members of the Association and stakeholders in the maritime sector to remain united and resilient as they navigate the challenges facing indigenous shipping in Nigeria

In a Christmas goodwill message to members, Adewumi said the festive season offers an opportunity for reflection on shared values that continue to sustain the Association and the wider maritime industry.

“As we celebrate the joy and significance of Christmas, I extend my warmest greetings to you and your families. This season reminds us of the values of unity, goodwill, resilience, and shared responsibility, values that continue to guide our Association and the maritime industry at large,” he said.

He acknowledged that the year had been marked by various challenges but commended Nigerian shipowners for their continued commitment to the growth and sustainability of indigenous shipping.

“Despite the challenges of the year, your commitment, cooperation, and dedication to the growth of indigenous shipping remain commendable. Together, we have continued to strengthen our collective voice and advance the interests of Nigerian shipowners,” Adewumi stated.

The NSA president stressed that sustained collaboration and constructive engagement would be critical in the coming year, especially as the sector seeks policy support, investment opportunities, and a more enabling operating environment.

“As we look forward to the New Year, let us remain united, supportive of one another, and committed to constructive engagement for the progress of our Association and the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector,” he added.

Adewumi also extended goodwill wishes to members and their families, expressing optimism for improved fortunes in the year ahead.

“May this Christmas bring peace, renewed hope, and prosperity to your homes and businesses. I wish you a joyful Christmas and a successful New Year.”
