The Tin Can Island Port Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to trade facilitation, anti-smuggling efforts, and revenue generation, achieving a new milestone under the leadership of Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka.

According to figures released by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SC Oscar Ivara, the Command generated a total of ₦128,446,323,224.79 in May 2025. This represents a substantial increase compared to the ₦92,671,603,418.04 generated in the corresponding month of May 2024.

The statement further stated that April 2025 saw outstanding performance, with the Command generating ₦145,000,000,000.00, which was more than the ₦95,500,000,000.00 generated in April 2024.

These steady monthly increases show a trend of increased effectiveness and better performance at the Command.

Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka has been focused on coordinating the Command's activities with the more general policies of Comptroller-General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi since assuming command.

Onyeka reiterated his commitment to achieving seamless revenue generation through legitimate means, stating: “My aim is to generate revenue seamlessly. I encourage trade facilitation, but the trade has to be legitimate and not harmful to the economy.”

Stakeholder engagement at the Command has also been applauded as exemplary, contributing to the overall success recorded in recent months. The Command continues to set new benchmarks in revenue performance, reinforcing its strategic role in Nigeria’s economic and trade framework.
