CGC Adeniyi Receives Prestigious Sun Newspaper Public Service Award, Unveils Community Development Initiatives
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has been honored with the prestigious Sun Newspaper Public Service Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership and contributions to national development. The award ceremony, held in Lagos on March 1, 2025, was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Management Festus Keyamo, and Governor of Anambra State Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

The Sun Newspaper Public Service Award is a highly respected recognition of outstanding public service in Nigeria. The award is given annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and commitment to national development. CGC Adeniyi's receipt of this award is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service and the nation at large.

During the ceremony, CGC Adeniyi expressed his gratitude to the Sun Newspaper and the organizers of the award. 

He stated that the recognition serves as a motivation to enhance service delivery in key areas such as trade facilitation, revenue generation, and national security. 

He emphasized the importance of leadership and commitment in nation-building, saying, "This kind of recognition is very encouraging and inspiring. Through our core mandates, we contribute our own quota to development, revenue generation, trade facilitation, and security. 

This is a call for better service delivery, a call for us to do more than we are doing, and we are ready for that in 2025.

CGC Adeniyi also used the opportunity to announce plans to launch a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the next two weeks. These community-focused programs will be anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and President Bola Tinubu's eight priority areas. The initiatives will target critical areas such as education, healthcare, and clean water supply, ensuring that communities where Customs officers
