NNPP Expels Kwankwasiya Movement; Denies Suspending Its Lawmakers
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has denied suspending its lawmakers, saying that those peddling the rumour are not its members.
The party declared that Senator Rabiu Musa KwanKwaso led Kwankwasiya Movement and its members have been expelled from the party.
According to s press statement signed by the Secretary General of NNPP, Comrade Oginni Sunday Olaposi, the Memorandum of Understanding between NNPP and Kwankwasiya Movement has been terminated after the 2023 general elections.
Olaposi in the statement explained that the memorandum of understanding was between NNPP and Kwankwasiya Movement and not Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima as natural persons.
"Senator KWANKWASO and Buba Galadima were mere representatives of Kwankwasiya Movement and national movement respectively hence their signatures on the memo of understanding 2022," Olaposi further explained..
He maintained that NNPP does not know them really but rather they are "mere interlopers in NNPP affairs at the moment, noting that the contract of understanding have been terminated."
The secretary general reminded that Abia State High Court on the 1st of Nov 2024 had terminated NNPP and Kwankwasiya Movement Memorandum of Understanding, even as the court went ahead to compel INEC to hand over the administration and leadership of NNPP to Dr Aniebonam Boniface Okechukwu, the Chairman, Board of Trustees and Founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
He warned Kwankwanso and Galadima to stop parading themselves as members of NNPP.
Reiterating that those law makers purportedly sacked by people who are no longer members of the party remain bonafide members of NNPP, the he appealed and advised Kano State indigenes to disregard whatever the Kwankwasiya members who are masquerading as NNPP members are saying.
Olapisi called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its sister political party- APC, to equally disregard whatever Kwankwasiya Movement led by Senator Kwankwaso is saying.
He maintained that all the Honourable members who were alleged to have been suspended remain bonafide members of NNPP.
"All of them are full fledged and bonafide elected members of the New Nigerian People's Party."
He said further that at its 54th National convention in Lagos 2025, the assembly rose in unison to pray for Senator KWANKWASO, Elder Galadima and the entire members of the Kwankwasiya Movement for God's wisdom , knowledge and respect for the rule law.
The secretary general warned Gov Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to know that NNPP has been lenient and tolerable of his gross misconduct, and should know that if he is expelled from NNPP, the chances of running gubernatorial election in Kano State in 2027 may not be possible for him.
He called the attention of Elder Galadima to the fact that members of NNPP are not poor as the root of NNPP is the gateway of the nation's economy, the NAGAFF family.
Noting that spiritual leaders with evil nature cannot help under the circumstances, he stated that all NNPP members are children of God and any evil fashioned against any of them from Morocco, Mali, Katsina, Maiduguri, Kano, Cameroon, India, Niger, etc. cannot fly.
He cautioned those involved in the fetish act to stop or have themselves to blame.
