Oyo State Cracks Down on Illegal Diesel Sales: Marketers Warned, Structures Demolished

The Oyo State government has taken decisive action against the persistent sale of adulterated diesel products at unauthorized locations along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, condemning the practice as an eyesore.

During a recent monitoring and enforcement exercise, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Architect A
bdulmojeed Olawale Mogbonjubola, ordered the demolition of structures housing the illegal diesel marketers.

The Commissioner had previously warned the marketers to cease their illegal activities, but they failed to comply. He expressed disappointment at their lackadaisical attitude, despite repeated warnings from the state government.

In a related development, Architect Mogbonjubola also visited the Fish Market at Odo-Ona Kekere in Ibadan, where he directed traders to prioritize sanitation and refrain from dumping refuse in the premises. He advised them to engage the services of an Environmental Consultant to address the issue.
