The Nigeria Customs Service has appointed Comptroller Kayode Rasheed Kolade as the new Customs Area Controller of the Seme/Krake border command.
In a press release issued by the Command's Public Relations Officer, SC Hussaini Abdullahi, on 3rd September, 2024 stated that Comptroller Kayode Rasheed Kolade assumed leadership of Seme Area Command following the recent appointment of the immediate past (CAC), Timi Bomodi, as an Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG).
In his new role, Kolade aims to build on the accomplishments of his predecessor, Acting Comptroller General Timi Bomodi, who was recently promoted to the management cadre and assigned to the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.
During the brief handover ceremony held in the CAC office at Seme-Krake Joint Border Post, Kayode pledged to build upon the accomplishments of his predecessor while also achieving new heights. Having worked in several tiers of the enforcement hierarchy, he conveyed his confidence in his ability to fulfill the duties assigned to him by the Nigeria Customs Service management.
The newly appointed CAC further reaffirmed his resolve to use his extensive background to successfully negotiate the intricate workings of the Border Command.
Ensuring that everyone would be carried along, Comptroller Kayode asked for the officers' and men's full participation as well as their support for the benefit of the nation as a whole.
Timi Bomodi, the outgoing CAC, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the NCS Management for giving him the chance to serve as CAC and his subsequent promotion to Ag ACG.
He also appreciated officers and stakeholders for their support and collaboration. He enjoined officers to extend the same support for the new CAC.
Bomodi expressed confidence that the Command will succeed in spite of obstacles. He further characterised the deployment of Comptroller Kolade as strategic.
