Borno Inland Dry Port to Boost Economic Growth, Job Creation

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has reaffirmed the state's commitment to completing the Borno Inland Dry Port within six months. During his visit to the Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC) Headquarters in Lagos, Zulum emphasized the project's significance, citing benefits such as employment generation, enhanced transborder trade, and economic growth.

The Governor praised President Tinubu's initiatives in rehabilitating roads, facilitating trade, and promoting economic diversification.


 He noted that the inland dry port would increase Nigeria's GDP and provide opportunities for the Federal Government and Borno State.

Executive Secretary of NSC, Barr. Pius Akutah, highlighted Borno's strategic location and the need for critical infrastructure. 

He commended Governor Zulum's progress in developing transit park infrastructure and urged swift harmonization between stakeholders to fast-track the project.

Akutah credited President Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy for driving the establishment of Inland Dry Ports nationwide. The completion of the Borno Inland Dry Port is expected to transform the regional economy, enhance trade, and create employment opportunities.

Governor Zulum's commitment to completing the project within six months demonstrates the state's dedication to economic growth and development. 


The inland dry port will play a crucial role in promoting trade, creating jobs, and enhancing Nigeria's economic prospects.
