Troops Neutralize Terrorist, Recover Arms in Taraba Forest Raid
In a successful operation, troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have neutralized a terrorist, recovered weapons, and destroyed terrorist camps in Ikiyayo Forest, Taraba State.
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops launched a sting operation in the early hours of July 7, 2024, targeting terrorist hideouts and camps in Wukari Local Government Area. The brave troops of 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B OPWS engaged the terrorists in a heavy gunfight, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist.
The operation yielded the recovery of:
- One AK-47 rifle
- One AK-47 magazine
- 39 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
Multiple terrorist camps used for planning and executing attacks were also destroyed.
