EDO STATE COMMISSIONER FOR PHYSICAL PLANNING, HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT VISITS LAGOS COUNTERPART ON STUDY TOUR
The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has once again received a visit from a counterpart ministry, this time from Edo State. The Commissioner for Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development in Edo State, Mrs. Isoken Ọmọ, visited the Lagos State Ministry on a study tour to understudy the state's physical planning model.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, received the Edo State Commissioner and highlighted the state's achievements in physical planning, including the creation of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the investment in operative development plans such as Master Plans, Model City Plans, and Development Guide Plans.
The Director, Technical Services, Office of Physical Planning, Tpl. Bola Aliu, welcomed the visit, stating that both states have much to learn from each other in physical planning. Various departments and units in the Office of Physical Planning presented their mandates and achievements to the visitors, showcasing their roles in preparing physical development plans, granting layout approvals, and delivering the Right of Way for public projects.
Mrs. Ọmọ expressed her appreciation for the insightful knowledge and experience gained from the visit and called for a summit of Physical Planning and Urban Development Ministries in Nigeria to facilitate knowledge sharing and progress across board.
