CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola Ensures Adequate Security for EID-EL-KABIR Celebration at Western Ports

The Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, has felicitated stakeholders and the business community,

especially the Muslim umma, on the occasion of the 2024 EID-EL-KABIR celebration. He assured of adequate security around the nation's ports during and after the celebration, stating that enough human, material, and operational assets have been strategically deployed for adequate coverage of the Western Ports Area of responsibility.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin, the CP noted that the deployment includes the Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, Lekki Deep-Sea Port, and other lighter terminals. The Area Commander, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and specialized units like the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit (EOD) and the canine (K9) unit have been directed to deploy all crime prevention assets at their disposal, while their men remain on red alert.

The Ports police marine department has also been directed to patrol the ports' perimeters to prevent any incursion through the waterways.

The CP enjoins everyone to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, peace, and love, which the season is centered on, while remaining vigilant and reporting any untoward incidents or suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure celebration at the Western Ports, and urged the public to cooperate with the police to achieve this goal.

He also thanked the public for their continued support and partnership with the police.
