NAGAFF TinCan Boss applauds Minister of Marine & Blue Economy
... receives 'Great Achiever's Prestigious Maritime Entrepreneur award
"Honestly I commend the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola for visiting the port to see for himself how decade TinCan Island Port (TICP) infrastructure has become and rescuing Freight forwarders from Collapse Port infrastructure".
Those were the words of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Chairman of TICP Chapter, Fwdr.Emeka Paul Chiedozie who was very hopeful that the visit would speed up response from Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) landlord of the Ports.
According to the Chairman who is also the Managing Director of Seagold Limited while speaking to some journalist said " TICP is generating huge revenue for NPA, but they paying lips service to maintainance,i am seriously appealing to the Minister to Monitor and supervise the immediate rehabilitation of the critical infrastructure, especially at Tin Can himself, if not it would be swept under the carpet like previous administrations"
" The Managing Director of NPA, Mohammed Bello-Koko, has taken lots of government officials round the ports facilities in the past administration,but no fruitful results, rather they kept renovating their own office building".
More so, he appeal to NAGAFF TinCan Chapter members to be very harmonious and watchful as the ongoing Labour Union Strike ends today. "I feel like shedding tears seeing the hardship my members are going through" he said.
"I sincerely appreciate the Minister for using his wisdom, by calling the terminal operators in the ports to collaborate with Federal Government to rehabilitate the collapsed quays, with the fact that they are also benefiting from it too". Adding that "if the terminal operators don't cooperate whenever the Port collapse totally they will loose, shipping company too, including bounded terminals".
In a related development, the Entire Executives and members of NAGAFF TICP Chapter at a very brief meeting in Apapa, gathered to celebrate and shower accolades on the NAGAFF TinCan Boss for receiving an award of 'Great Achiever's as one of the Prestigious Maritime Entrepreneur in recognition of his luadable accomplishments as a Unionist and Sole Proprietor for his contribution to the the Maritime industry and as an advocate of a professional Frieght Forwarders.
Speaking on the award which was presented by Prestige Magazine, the Vice Chairman of NAGAFF TICP Chapter, Fwdr. Ifeanyi Emon who spoke on behalf of the Chapter members said " Chief Fwdr. Emeka Chiedozie is performing Chairman, he has shown that leadership is about service to the People and Humanity with his God given resources, we are very proud of him". Adding that, "Once again congratulations and many more fruitful years in good health".
