MWUN FELICITATES NIGERIANS ON DEMOCRACY DAY
The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade, Prince (Dr) Adewale Adeyanju felicitated Nigerians and the Federal Government  under the presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President and Commander - In - Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces on the occasion of Nigeria's Democracy Day.

The union recalled that Democracy Day in Nigeria was informed by the annulment of June 12, 1993 election where Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola won the election of that year in a landslide victory under the Military Presidency of Gen. "Today, Abiola has been so honored and had become a matyr and a symbol of democracy in the country, given to the understanding of the immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, who made June 12th a nationwide holiday.  However, Kudos must be given to Buhari for recognizing what Chief Abiola represents as far as democracy is concerned, especially to Nigeria and Nigerians," Prince Adeyanju stated.

"In this regard, on behalf of my entire executives in the Maritime Workers Union, we celebrate with Nigeria and her teeming resilient citizens who have have come this far in upholding what's today known as democracy day, which has become a reality in celebrating an uninterrupted democracy since 1999.
