The Chief Executive Officer, Ocean Deep Maritime Ltd, Mrs Rollens Macfoy, has bagged three awards at the 2022 Maritime and Offshore Awards (tagged OMIS).
The awards were set up to honour distinguishable organisations and individuals in the sector.
One of the awards bagged by the Ocean Deep boss,was tagged "Outstanding Maritime Institution in the Country".
The second award was tagged "Outstanding Mentor of Women in the Maritime Industry in the Nation" while the third award was tagged "Ocean Deep Ltd being "One of the Best Manning Company in Nigeria".
After receiving the award, Macfoy appreciated God for giving her the opportunity to stand out and be resourceful to the maritime industry.
She pledge to continued offering her best to the growth of Nigerian Maritime sector .
Macfoy also commended the efforts of the OMIS for being sincere after undergone thorough investigation to ensure that outstanding operators were rewarded.
"Am very excited and overwhelmed over the three awards from OMIS.
"The three awards came to me as a surprise because the letter of invitation I received from OMIS did not specify that I will be receiving three awards in one day.
"I am grateful to OMIS for this recognition, I am also very appreciative to my husband who has been my pillar, though not in this industry but always supportive of my job and all it takes to grow in the industry.
"Ocean Deep staff are not left out in this appreciation. They are very hard working; almost working round the clock as you know that shipping is a 24-hour business," Macfoy said.
Macfoy, also the President of the Women in Maritime Africa (WIMAfrica) Nigeria, pledged to continue to do her best in moving the maritime sector forward.
Maritime and Offshore Award (tagged OMIS) was created to honour distinguishable organisations and individuals in the sector.
The Chief Executive Officer, Femi Da-Silva, said that the event was to catalyse continued development of the industry “through appreciation of the most silent but incredible work that is being done by stakeholders".
The awards were meant to highlight innovations and achievements in the field as well as raise awareness and beam the searchlight on important issues that do not always get the attention they deserve and subsequently promote improvement.
