‎The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) has announced plans to bring together senior maritime executives, policymakers and industry strategists for a three-day executive course focused on strengthening logistics, trade facilitation and blue economy development.
‎The Executive Course on Logistics and Trade Facilitation for Blue Economy Growth is scheduled for September 7 to 9, 2026, at the IMION Auditorium, NNS QUORRA, Harbour Road, Apapa, Lagos.
‎IMION, described as the Nigerian Navy’s premier research institute and think-tank, said in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, that the programme was designed for C-Suite executives, policymakers and senior strategists responsible for shaping industry frameworks and driving implementation strategies.
‎The institute said the course would provide participants with strategic knowledge and insights aimed at bridging the gap between domestic maritime operations and international standards.
‎According to IMION, the initiative is part of its commitment to promoting academic and professional excellence while supporting Nigeria’s efforts to maximise the economic opportunities presented by its maritime sector.
‎The institute stated, “By bridging the gap between local execution and global standards, this executive course reinforces IMION’s unwavering commitment to academic and professional excellence.”
‎It added that as Nigeria intensifies efforts to harness the multi-billion-dollar potential of its maritime domain, programmes such as the executive course would be instrumental in shaping the future of sustainable trade, security and economic prosperity across the Gulf of Guinea.
‎The course will begin at 9:00 a.m. daily, with participation fixed at N350,000.
‎Participants are required to make payment into the International Maritime Institute of Nigeria’s account with United Bank for Africa (UBA), account number 1027637249.
‎The institute said the programme reflects its continuing focus on developing the expertise and strategic capacity required to advance Nigeria’s maritime economy and strengthen its role in regional and global trade.
