The Ogun I Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom, Oba Yisa Olaniyan Adelakun, describing the late monarch as a vital partner in strengthening border security and maintaining peace in the border community.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the management and officers of the Command, the Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller O.O. Afeni, said the monarch's passing was a significant loss not only to Ipokia Kingdom but also to the Nigeria Customs Service.
According to the Afeni, the late traditional ruler was a pillar of peace, a custodian of the kingdom's rich cultural heritage, and a champion of communal harmony whose reign was marked by an unwavering commitment to the development of Ipokia Kingdom and Ogun State.
Reflecting on the monarch's demise, Afeni said: "We have lost a father, a wise counselor and a critical stakeholder in our efforts to maintain border security and economic stability in the region. His Royal Majesty was highly instrumental in fostering mutual understanding and synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service and the wonderful people of Ipokia. His departure leaves a massive void that will be difficult to fill."
The Area Controller noted that the late monarch's support helped strengthen cooperation between the Customs Service and the border community, contributing to improved security and economic stability in the area.
The Command extended its deepest sympathies to the immediate royal family, the Ipokia Traditional Council and the law-abiding people of Ipokia Kingdom.
It also prayed that God would grant the royal family and the people of Ipokia the strength to bear the loss and repose the soul of the departed monarch in perfect peace.
