ASIWAJU’S VISIONARY TRUST IN GBAJABIAMILA IS PAYING OFF — TPG COMMENDS TINUBU FOR BOLD APPOINTMENT

ASIWAJU’S VISIONARY TRUST IN GBAJABIAMILA IS PAYING OFF — TPG COMMENDS TINUBU FOR BOLD APPOINTMENT
The Progressives Group, TPG, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what it described as a “strategic masterstroke” in appointing Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, CFR, as Chief of Staff to the President in June 2023.

In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Comrade Shola Omolola, TPG said the President’s decision to entrust the “engine room” of government to Gbajabiamila has brought stability, discipline, and measurable progress to the Renewed Hope administration.

TPG noted that when Asiwaju appointed Gbajabiamila, there were doubts in some quarters. Three years on, the group said that decision has been vindicated.

“Asiwaju did not just appoint a friend. He appointed a proven administrator, a bridge-builder, and a man of discipline. That trust is now delivering results for Nigerians,” the statement read.

According to TPG, the impact of the Chief of Staff is already visible across government. Under Gbajabiamila’s coordination, the Presidency has moved “from chaos to calendar.” Cabinet meetings now start on time, memos are processed faster, and friction between ministries has reduced. “The engine room is functioning the way it should,” the group stated.

With six terms of experience in the House of Representatives and as former Speaker of the 9th Assembly, Gbajabiamila has also leveraged his relationships to ensure smoother passage of critical legislation. TPG cited the 2024 and 2025 Appropriation Acts, the Tax Reform Bills, and amendments to the Student Loan Act as examples of bills that moved with “less friction because the Chief of Staff speaks the legislature’s language.”

The group further stated that Gbajabiamila chairs several key implementation committees driving the administration’s flagship programs.

This, it argued, is why projects like the 3 Million Technical Talent, 3MTT, the Presidential CNG Initiative, and Housing Reform are moving from policy documents to actual groundbreaking and implementation. “Quiet work, and visible results,” TPG added.

TPG also praised Gbajabiamila for running “a tight, loyal ship” in an office prone to leaks and power struggles. “No scandals. No media wars. Just service. That is the Asiwaju standard,” the group said.

The group acknowledged party leaders and Nigerians who defended the Chief of Staff against criticism. “Your faith was not misplaced. Truth is patient, and truth has vindicated him,” the statement said.

The group declared that Asiwaju saw leadership qualities in Gbajabiamila that others missed.

“Asiwaju believed. Gbajabiamila delivered. Nigeria is winning. Darkness cannot overshadow light,” TPG stated.

It urged all stakeholders to allow the Chief of Staff to serve without distraction so the administration can “finish strong” and consolidate gains ahead of 2027.
