Residents across several streets in Oshodi-Isolo have received a major relief as the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba (Dr.) Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, commissioned another batch of 20 boreholes to improve access to potable water in the council area.

The intervention, according to a press release from the Chairman’s media office, targeted communities that had long struggled with water shortages and formally requested government support.

The latest rollout underscores the administration’s renewed focus on basic infrastructure and community welfare, particularly in densely populated neighbourhoods where residents often trek long distances in search of clean water.

Speaking on the initiative, the Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to improving living conditions across the local government.

“Water is essential to life, and we have vowed to ensure easy access to drinkable water within our local government. We urge our people to take ownership of these projects and maintain them properly to ensure they serve the community for a long time,” he said.

Residents of the benefiting communities expressed appreciation for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention.

A joyous resident from Olaiya Street noted that, " We thank the chairman for this water. You can see that Olaiya street is very long and most of the times, we usually treck a long distance before getting water but with now, it will really ease our water problem."
