Otunba (Dr.) Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in Oshodi, following a high-level strategic security meeting with the newly deployed Commander of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Oshodi, Air Commodore M.A. Imam.

The meeting, held yesterday, focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration and enhancing security architecture across the local government area, as part of deliberate efforts to consolidate the peace currently enjoyed by residents.

Welcoming the council chairman and his entourage, Air Commodore Imam expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and strategic. He disclosed that he had been briefed extensively on Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof’s leadership style and development strides since assuming office.

The Air Force Commander revealed that he had been taken on a tour of several infrastructural projects executed by the council chairman within the Air Force Base, including internal road construction, street lighting, and borehole water facilities.

According to him, available records show that Otunba (Dr.) Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof is the first local government chairman to undertake such projects within the base.

He reaffirmed that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to its core mandate of maintaining peace and security in Oshodi and surrounding areas, and requested guidance on critical flashpoints requiring increased security presence. He assured that strategic patrols and operational support would be deployed to sustain law and order.

Responding, Otunba (Dr.) Oloyede-Almaroof described the relationship between the local government and security agencies as cordial and productive, stressing that his administration recognises the sacrifices of security personnel and remains committed to their welfare.

He assured the Air Force Commander of accelerated approval for security-related requests and continued collaboration.

“I welcome you to Oshodi and I'm sure we will have a smooth working relationship. Oshodi is peaceful, and we are determined to sustain the peace and ensure that lawbreakers face the full wrath of the law. We hold our men and women in high regard and we shall continue to partner with you,” the chairman said.

In appreciation of his infrastructural and humanitarian interventions within the Air Force Base, Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof was presented with an award by the Command.

The Commander also requested the intervention of the local government in the installation of solar-powered street lights within the base. The chairman immediately approved the request and gave marching orders to the engineer for prompt installation.

Members of the chairman’s entourage included the party chairman, Hon. Saheed Animashaun; Chief of Staff, Hon. Leke Banjoko; Alhaji Hassan; Barrister Asine; Hon. Olubiyo; and the Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Wasiu Olayiwola.
Also present at the meeting were Squadron Leader Francis, Flight Lieutenant M.K. Adekanmbi, Flying Officer S.J. Tule, and Flying Officer H.M. Kolomi.
