ACG Babandede Inspires Officers, Reinforces Standards at Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Customs

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, played host to the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Zone A, Mohammed Babandede, during a strategic operational visit focused on strengthening efficiency, discipline and service delivery.
The Acting Customs Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Adigun, received the ACG and his entourage, describing the visit as timely and motivating.
He expressed the Command’s appreciation for the engagement and reaffirmed its commitment to revenue generation, enforcement and trade facilitation, while pledging that all operations would remain aligned with the broader vision and objectives of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Addressing officers and men of the Command, ACG Babandede emphasised the critical role of discipline, dedication, integrity and teamwork in achieving operational excellence.
He charged officers to remain vigilant, adapt to evolving trade and border management challenges, adhere strictly to established procedures and promote innovation and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
As part of the visit, the ACG reviewed the Command’s revenue performance, enforcement activities and stakeholder engagement framework.
The Zonal Coordinator also interacted directly with officers, observed daily operational processes and offered practical guidance aimed at strengthening performance and improving service standards.
Deputy Comptroller Adigun described the visit as a defining moment for the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command, noting that the ACG’s advice and observations would help sharpen its operational focus.
He assured that the Command would continue to enhance its processes, support the objectives of the Nigeria Customs Service and safeguard the national economy, while facilitating legitimate trade.
