SIFAX Group and the Port Authority Police (Western) Command have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening security across the Lagos ports, underscoring the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders within Nigeria’s maritime ecosystem.

The resolve was expressed during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Port Authority Police (Western) Command, Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja, to the SIFAX Group headquarters, where the company’s Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, emphasized that effective port security depends on collective responsibility.

Afolabi stressed that all players in the port environment must support the operations of the Port Authority Police to ensure the safety of lives and property, protect critical port infrastructure, and maintain a conducive environment for legitimate commercial activities.

While congratulating Agbaminoja on her appointment, Afolabi praised her track record in previous maritime-related postings and pledged the company’s continued cooperation with the Command.

“SIFAX Group has built a solid relationship with CP Toyin Agbaminoja over the years, and we are glad on her new promotion which I believe is a demonstration of the Nigeria Police hierarchy trust in her ability to deliver value in the Lagos ports and beyond,” he said.
“Our company has a reputation for partnering with security agencies across the country because we believe security requires stakeholder collaboration for it to be effective and sustainable. SIFAX Group will continue to support the Port Authority Police Command,” Afolabi added.

Earlier, CP Agbaminoja commended SIFAX Group for its contributions to the maritime industry, noting that her visit was aimed at deepening the existing relationship between the Command and the company. She said both institutions share a common commitment to enhancing maritime security and ensuring orderly port operations.

Members of the SIFAX Group management team present at the meeting included Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director; John Jenkins, Managing Director, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited; Oliver Omajuwa, Deputy Director, Strategy and Operations; and Olumuyiwa Akande, Group Head, Corporate Communications.

The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by senior officers of the Port Authority Police (Western) Command, including Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Inusa Karyah; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration, Olufikayo Fawole; Area Commander, Western Ports, Sunday Adeyeri; and the Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin.
