The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a revenue collection of ₦215 billion for August 2025, achieved through the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu, despite reported network glitches.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs JT Ayagbalo, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, described the achievement as the outcome of growing confidence and steady improvement in the B’Odogwu platform.

Olomu expressed gratitude to stakeholders and officers for their commitment, noting that the August collection was a testament to the resilience of officers whose patriotism has kept the system thriving amidst challenges.

He thanked stakeholders for their belief in the platform’s capacity to meet the expectations of the trading community, particularly those engaged in import and export business through the nation’s premier port in Apapa.

Taking a cue from several confidence-building engagements personally attended by the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, the Controller reassured all importers, exporters, licensed customs agents, and freight forwarders that B’Odogwu was on the verge of breaking through for greater success.

He said their patience and support were invaluable contributions to the national economy and commendable efforts in backing a homegrown ICT platform designed to revolutionise trade in Nigeria through customs operations.

Olomu further disclosed that the CGC had directed the ICT/Modernisation Department at NCS Headquarters to invigorate service delivery by promptly addressing hitches, listening to user complaints, and providing necessary support to improve efficiency.

Expressing optimism about the future of B’Odogwu, Olomu stated: "Our collection of ₦215b using the B'Odogwu platform confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable platform for trade by Nigerians and for all those doing import, export and excise business in Nigeria."

"This is a collective victory for all of us, and we shall continue in the march forward for greater successes in days, weeks, and months ahead. We are braving all odds, and the sky is our limit." He added.
