Maritime Workers Union President-General Congratulates Nigerians on New Year, Predicts Promising 2025 for Maritime Industry
The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, has congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of the new year, 2025. In his statement, Dr. Adeyanju expressed gratitude to God for the relative peace witnessed in the country despite the political turbulence experienced in 2024.

He urged Nigerians, particularly those in the maritime sector, to remain resilient and pray for a turnaround in the industry. Dr. Adeyanju praised Nigerians for their patience and perseverance in the face of hardship, insecurity, and other challenges, assuring them that God will reward their efforts in the new year.

"Despite the numerous challenges we faced in 2024, we are grateful to God for the relative peace we enjoyed as a nation," Dr. Adeyanju said. "As we enter the new year, I urge all Nigerians, especially those in the maritime sector, to remain steadfast and committed to their work. With prayer and perseverance, I am confident that our industry will experience a significant turnaround in 2025."

Dr. Adeyanju, who is also the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Vice President Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), predicted a promising year for the maritime industry. He noted that the industry has faced numerous challenges in recent years, but expressed optimism that 2025 will bring new opportunities for growth and development.

The statement was signed by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN.

"I am confident that 2025 will be a better year for the maritime industry," Dr. Adeyanju said. "With the support of our members, stakeholders, and the government, I believe we can overcome the challenges facing our industry and achieve significant growth and development."

As Nigerians celebrate the new year, Dr. Adeyanju urged them to do so with joy, love, and happiness, while avoiding violence, crime, and other vices. He wished all Nigerians a happy new year, praying that God will bless the country and its people in 2025.
