NIS Records Historic Promotion Exercise: 13,977 Officers Elevated, CGIS Tasks Newly Promoted on Excellent Service Delivery
The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, recently decorated 15 Assistant Comptrollers General and 95 Comptrollers of Immigration Service at the Service Headquarters. This historic promotion exercise is the largest in the history of the Service.

Speaking at the event, the CGIS eulogised the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, for the massive harvest of promotions.

The promotions are divided into two categories: 6,697 within the ranks of Assistant Superintendents of Immigration to Assistant Comptrollers General, and 7,280 from the ranks of Immigration Assistants and Inspectors of Immigration.

Additionally, five officers were specially promoted for their exceptional contributions to the Service.

A statement signed by DCI KT Udo, the Service Public Relations Officer on Saturday, 5 October, 2024.

KN Nandap emphasized that these promotions mark the end of stagnation and the beginning of a new era of smooth career progression and institutional growth. The promoted officers were charged to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity, and professionalism, particularly in addressing emerging challenges related to border security and migration management.

With this massive promotion exercise, the Nigeria Immigration Service is poised for enhanced performance and service delivery.
