Troops Deal Decisive Blow to Terrorists in Multiple Operations, Seize Weapons and Ammunition Cache in Imo and Kwara States

In a series of precision operations, Nigerian Army troops have made significant strides in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in Imo State. Collaborating with other security forces, the troops conducted successful raids on multiple hideouts of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The operations resulted in the arrest of key terrorist kingpins, seizure of a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition, and recovery of valuable items belonging to Eze Ogberuru, whose palace was earlier desecrated by ESN elements.
The troops also neutralized a suspected IPOB/ESN kingpin, Chinemerem, aka "Bam Bam," and arrested several accomplices in Ezeinyen Okwe Umucheke, Onuimo LGA.

In another operation, troops intercepted suspected IPOB/ESN terrorists in Amausa, Okigwe LGA, recovering 72 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm (NATO) ammunition, four rounds of 7.62 mm (Special), 3 rounds of 5.56mm, one FN Rifle, a pair of military desert boots, and one green beret.

In a related development, troops tracked and arrested a suspected terrorist, Ibrahim Abdullahi, in Edu LGA of Kwara State, recovering an AK-47 rifle, magazines, and ammunition.

These operations demonstrate the synergy and commitment of security forces in addressing the challenges posed by terrorist groups and criminal elements.

The troops remain relentless in their efforts to ensure the safety and security of Nigerians.
