President Tinubu Announces New Leadership for Police Service Commission and Nigeria Police Trust Fund
In a move aimed at strengthening the nation's security architecture, President Bola Tinubu has appointed a new leadership for the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).

According to a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Monday, June 10, 2024, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC). This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.

In addition, the President has also appointed Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as Member of the Commission.

 Other members of the Police Service Commission will be appointed in due course.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has appointed Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) with immediate effect.

The President expects the new leadership to demonstrate integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of their duties, which is crucial for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation.

This development is seen as a strategic move by the President to reposition the security sector and ensure effective service delivery to the citizens of Nigeria.
