Customs Zone 'A' Coordinator applauds Murtala Muhammed Airport and Apapa Customs Command Area Controllers.

The Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘A’, Nigeria Customs Service, ACG Bello Mohammed Jibo has commended the Area Controllers of Murtala Muhammed Airport and Apapa Customs Commands, Comptroller Mohammed Sani Yusuf and Comptroller Babajide Jayeoba.

ACG Jibo made the commendations when he visited both commands on an official tour on Tuesday, 19th of December, 2023 and Wednesday, 20th of December, 2023 respectively as part of his statutory functions of overseeing the commands’ activities under his leadership.

The ACG also advised senior officers of the zone to ensure proper mentorship of their subordinates most especially the middle cadre personnel.
He charged the senior officers to be role models, source of inspiration and motivation to the younger ones, most especially as regards leadership and Management.
According to a press statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, SC Akaniyene Edeminam, the Zonal Coordinator was received by the two Customs Area Controllers together with their senior management teams.
ACG Jibo said he was impressed by the recent achievements of the commands and charged them to be more punctual, upright and dedicated to the Service in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He also relayed the outcome of the recently concluded Comptroller General of Customs Conference held in Lagos and enumerated the importance of the theme
“Leveraging Data Analytics for Secure and Efficient Trade Facilitation in Customs Operations”.
He laid emphasis on the commitment of CGC to improve the general welfare of the officers and men of the service.



The ACG reminded officers of the CGC’s policy thrusts which are consolidation, collaboration and innovation, and went further to advocate for promotion of stakeholder’s engagements for an improved trade facilitation and revenue collection.

In addition, the ACG engaged and encouraged the examination officers at the terminals on effective supervision and proper examination of cargoes professionally
